Hi, my name is Calvin Toews, a third-generation master sewing technician. My grandfather, Peter Toews, founded Toews Sewing back in 1950, and I've been fortunate enough to carry on his legacy. As a young boy, I would often find myself sitting on my grandfather's sturdy workbench, engrossed in conversations with him while watching his skilled hands repair sewing machines. Little did I realize then that this would become my lifelong passion and livelihood for over 43 years.
One of the greatest treasures I inherited from my grandfather was his collection of old sewing service manuals. These manuals, along with my ever-growing collection of up-to-date manuals, have become a substantial library of valuable information. They hold the secrets of the sewing machine industry, passed down through the years, and they continue to be a source of guidance and inspiration for me.
Every day, I walk into the familiar, comforting space of Toews Sewing. The scent of sewing machine oil and the rhythmic hum of sewing machines envelop me, transporting me back to my childhood memories. I take pride in the fact that I have upheld the family tradition of excellence in sewing machine repairs and services. It brings me great joy to help others and breathe new life into their cherished sewing machines.

It is this rich heritage that drives me to continue learning, adapting, and staying at the forefront of my craft.
