Calvin Toews went above and beyond. I brought in my mom’s vintage Pfaff sewing machine that we had sewn on together for over 40 years. It had water damage, wasn’t working, and another repair shop told me it was unrepairable — but it holds enormous sentimental value to me. Calvin took one look at it and said, “You’ve just brought me a Rolex.” I immediately felt understood and confident leaving it with him. He had it repaired in just two days, and it now sews like a brand-new machine. I’m incredibly grateful for his skill, care, and respect for craftsmanship. I highly recommend him

I’m in Abbotsford on my annual trip from Québec, visiting my 88-year-old parents. I visit once or twice a year to check up on them and to lend a hand with technological issues. My Mum’s sewing machine jammed so I offered to take her to a repair shop. She said she’s taken her sewing machine to a shop named Toews in the past, but they have since moved. My Mum has an old Singer that she inherited from her mother-in-law. She is still able to sew everything she wants to with it. Dad and I remove it from the desk – super easy – fantastic design – and I seatbelt it in the car. I found Toews easily on the Internet. They have great reviews, and now I know why. Mr. Toews took a few minutes to find out a little about us, to answer our questions and to tell us a little about his shop. I mentioned that I am here on a short visit, and he said he would have the machine repaired before I returned to Québec. He kept his word : the machine was ready the next day ! It really pays to frequent local, family owned and operated businesses – I highly recommend this one. Mr. Toews is the third-generation owner of his enterprise – I hope there will be a fourth because, apparently, this machine will be good for at least another 50 years !

I’ve have had my Pfaff for 48 years and have always had Toews maintain it.It had thread all tangled in the motor and Calvin took the time To get it all untangled and it is working as good as new now

I came in from Maple Ridge and brought in my dad’s old Elna sewing machine that has a lot of sentimental value to me. Calvin was incredible and prioritized my dad’s machine. The turn around was quick and Calvin explained exactly what the issue was and showed me how to use the machine without issues. I am very happy to get the machine back in perfect working condition. I know where to go if there are any issues. I highly recommend Calvin, he is incredibly knowledgeable and patient.

For the last 35 years I have bought 4 machines for myself at this amazing place. The staff are so knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I also dealt with them as a sewing teacher, and their service of our school machines was excellent. Now that I have retired, I bought myself an embroidery machine as a parting gift. They gave me a thank-you package of several useful tools. I am moving away and will miss their excellent service!

Bought my Janome sewing machine- which I love, but there was an issue with the tool box not fitting very well. They mailed me out a new one that fits just fine with no questions asked!! and added a package of sewing machine needles as a thank you! Great customer service!!!

I needed a concealed zipper foot for my 25+ year old Janome sewing machine. They had one in stock and shipped it out right away. Excellent customer service and quick delivery. Will definitely contact them with any other needs.

Aside from the wonderful machine that I purchased, what really stands out is the excellent customer service that I received from Toews. Alayna was extremely helpful when I presented her with a list of questions regarding a CoverStitch machine. She not only took the time to provide the answers but also made suggestions as to some of the problems that I was having with my existing machine. I always received replies to my inquiries in a timely manner. Needless to say, I do not regret buying the Janome 1000 CPX CoverPro from Toews. Thanks!

I'm going to make the argument that these guys are faster than Ricky Bobby himself! A while back, I got in touch with them to find some human help in purchasing a machine to suit working with leather. The person was very helpful and put me on a mailing list for when the machine I was looking for was back in stock. She told me to order through their Amazon store to get free shipping. Thank you! I ordered on Dec. 17, 2020 and was having it shipped to Vancouver. I got a call from a delivery driver on Dec. 18, 2020 saying he was dropping it off. ... ... I think that was less than 24 hours from placing the order to my door step. Nice Job Folks!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff - were able to offer several options for me, no pressure sales. I ended up buying a machine that I was not sure I would be able to operate without a few lessons, but these are currently not being offered due to the pandemic. I was able to follow the instructions and have already sewed a couple of items for my grand-kids (1 day after I brought it home). I am very happy with my purchase.

I bought a Janome HD3000 from Toews Sewing (through Amazon) and ran into a very small (annoying) problem with it. I just called them on the phone and was blown away with how responsive and helpful they were. They clearly explained the adjustment I'd have to make and said I could call back any time. Problem solved! I really can't imagine buying from anyone else.
